Since its inception over 25 years ago, CSL has contributed significantly to numerous initiatives that help us address our corporate social responsibilities through affiliations with various organizations.
1. Community Initiatives
Giving Back to Society
The following is a summary of some of the key activities that CSL involved with:

CSL and its employees donated HK$540,000 to the Hong Kong Red Cross to support of the victims of the Sichuan Earthquake tragedy (2008).

Further supported the victims of the Sichuan Earthquake through fund raising activities organized by the Wireless Information and Technology Association and the Hong Kong Peforming Artistes Guild by offering free SMS to promote these initiatives to our customers. A significant amount was donated to the earthquake victims through various charitable organizations including unicef, Oxfam, Salvation Army, Red Cross, World Vision and Caring for Children Foundation (2008).

Supported ˇ§Laisee for the Chestˇ¨ fund raising program, encouraging customers to donate a laisee to The Community Chest to support the community services for the elderly (2008).

To grant wishes to children with life-threatening illnesses this Christmas, one2free donated a full diamond Motopure H12 bluetooth headset (valued at HK$96,888) to "Make-A-Wish® Hong Kong" for charity auction (2008).

Donated HK$100,000 to The Community Chest through the "Corporate and Employee Contribution Programme" (2002-2003, 2004-2005).

Sponsored the Commercial Radio's fund raising activity, enabling customers to make donation via SMS for the needy (2005).

Supported the "Crossing Borders Fund Raising Show" by offering free live broadcast service on mobile and enabling customers to make donations via SMS for the tsunami victims (2005).

Sponsored the MTR Corporation's "Inspiring Hong Kong with Confidence" campaign, enabling customers to send free SMS to each other to share their concern and show how much they care (2003).
Promoting Healthy Lifestyle
CSLˇ¦s corporate promise is to Create a Simple Life for the people around us through the provision of cutting-edge mobile technology and applications. To support this promise, we are in partnership with a number of charitable organisations that promote healthy living:

CSL provided free mobile services to support the charitable programs organized by the Hong Kong Cancer Fundˇ¦s Stride for a Cure walkathon and Rehabilitation Alliance Hong Kongˇ¦s Flag Day (2008).

Donated for "Orbis Pin Day" to raise funds for Orbis' eye care projects in the developing countries (2004-2008).

Supported and promoted green sports among employees by participating in the 3rd Tour of Hong Kong Shanghai - HSBC Hong Kong Stage. Our senior management took part in this exciting international cycling tournament organized by the Hong Kong Cycling Team (2008).

Encouraged our employees to participate in the CyberRun for Rehab ˇV Healthy Steps in Cyberport 2008, which heightens public awareness of healthy living by running or walking while raising funds for the betterment of people with disabilities and chronic illness in mainland China and Hong Kong (2008).

Encouraged employees'donation for staff team who joined the Oxfam Trailwalker to raise funds for the people in poverty (2008).

Sponsored the Hong Kong Society for the Deaf's SMS game, which promoted the 992 emergency SMS service for the deaf and created awareness among the general public of the needs of deaf people (2005).

Sponsored the Joyful (Mental Health) Foundation, enabling customers to make donations via SMS for promoting mental health (2005).
2. Education Initiatives
CSL has always believed that the best way to invest in the future is to facilitate education in local communities and nurture talents for tomorrow.
As a leading mobile operator, we have been actively cultivating knowledge and expertise in the mobile technology industry among Hong Kongˇ¦s youth through internship programs for colleges and universities.

CSL conducted careers sessions for students who participated in the Communications Tours co-organised by Communications Association of Hong Kong (CAHK) and Legislative Councillor (IT) Sin Chung-kai in celebration for the World Telecommunication and Information Society Day (2008).

Sponsored the "Harmony in Motion" Scholastic SMS/MMS Composition Competition. The competition was organized by the Communications Association of Hong Kong, celebrate the "World Information Society Day" (2007)

New World Mobility and the Caritas Family Crisis Support Centre conducted a survey entitled "Truly Connected To Build Harmony" and organized parent-child activities. The objectives of the events were to better understand how to foster relationships and improve modes of communication between parents and their children (2006).
In recognition of its commitment to CSR, CSL has been awarded ˇ§Caring Companyˇ¨status for five consecutive years (2003 ˇV 2008). This award which is issued by the Hong Kong Council of Social Service and was given in recognition of CSLˇ¦s provision of a family-friendly work environment for employees and donations for the community.
