e-Care Link Mobile App Service is a service for seeking help from SCHSA through a smartphone application. After Service User activated the e-Care Link Mobile App, he/she can immediately communicate with SCHSA’s 24-hour Call & Care Service Center. Center staff offer suitable assistance services, and contact User’s family to update User’s status. User can also make use of SCHSA designated remote to activate the e-Care Link Mobile App, additionally the remote is equipped with Octopus function, making User to feel more convenient in an outdoor environment.

In 1996, Senior Citizen Home Safety Association (SCHSA) was founded by a group of passionate individuals, including Ir. Albert J. Cheng, GBS, P.Eng., FHKIE, JP, and Dr. C.K. Law, GBS, SBS, JP, in response to a prolonged cold spell during which more than one hundred elderly living alone were found dead. The Association is a self-financing social enterprise and charitable organization in Hong Kong that offers 24-hour personal caring and emergency assistance services to the elderly and others in need through our core service, Personal Emergency Link, with the mission to enhance the living quality of the elderly in the community through the use of technology and people-oriented services.
SCHSA is a believer in technology, leveraging ICT advancements to establish efficient, cost-effective service platform that provides territory-wide service to our users. In recent years, SCHSA has developed a series of services - including PE Link, the award-winning Mobile Link Service, Safety Phone Service, e-Care Link Service, eSmartHealth Service, as our continuous effort to enhance the living quality of the elderly in the community, extending the specialized SCHSA Call & Care support from indoor to outdoor environment. SCHSA is also committed to promoting respect to the elderly among the society through constructing a cross-sectoral Community Engagement platform. By setting up the Jockey Club Life Journey Center, the first of its kind in Asia, and rolling out a series of new services that include "Life Book", a personalized book printing service, and "A Message for My Beloved" program, SCHSA is pledged to redefining the image of elders, connecting different generations and building an elderly-friendly community from a new perspective.
e-Care Link Mobile App Service (or the "Service") provides 24-hour location searching and comprehensive care and emergency support services by Senior Citizen Home Safety Association ("SCHSA") on smartphone ("e-Care Link Mobile App Service").
Within 3 days after service becoming effective, SCHSA will directly contact the service user to arrange technical staff to provide activation services at the service user’s premises.
The Service is provided by SCHSA and is provided pursuant to the terms and conditions set out in https://www.schsa.org.hk.
The Service requires voice call and Mobile Data services to keep its normal operation. You will have to pay thereafter charges or top up charges if your usage exceeds your monthly Mobile Data and voice call entitlements.
To utilize the Service, you are required to subscribe for the e-Care Link Mobile App Service, successfully download install the e-Care Link Mobile App and pair the smartphone with the e-Care Link Service Octopus Remote via Bluetooth.
The service cannot be used while the smartphone is powered off.
The Bluetooth function of your smartphone will be forced to be switched on after installing the e-Care Link Mobile App. Battery consumption of your smartphone will significantly increase when the Bluetooth function is enabled.
e-Care Link Service Octopus Remote pairs with the smartphone via Bluetooth. The Remote can activate the e-Care Link Mobile App and dial to SCHSA when the Remote is placed within 3 meters of the smartphone and the Remote will not be activated if it is placed beyond 3 meters of the smartphone.
If the remote is out of battery, user needs to change the battery. Otherwise, the remote will not be functional.
Location searching service is only available while the GPS function of the handset is enabled. As the Service is provided by SCHSA, csl does not make any representations or warranties relating to the accuracy or effectiveness of the location search service. GPS function will be affected by many factors including but not limited to network status, weather, location and environment. e.g. If you are inside a building or at underground, the Service may be ineffective. When the GPS function fails, location searching service only can provide the latest GPS detected location.
If I terminate the e-Care Link Mobile App Service within the Commitment Period, I will need to pay an Early Termination Charge to the Company as set out in the csl mobile service optional services application and/or csl mobile Service Guide (together known as "Application").
I acknowledge and agree that e-Care Link Mobile App Service will cease immediately if the csl mobile service plan is terminated or suspended for any reason. CSL Mobile Limited shall not be responsible for or liable to any losses or damages which may arise in connection with e-Care Link Mobile App Service. If you terminate your csl mobile service, Optional Services will also be terminated at the same time and you are required to pay us the Early Termination Charges for both csl mobile service and Optional Services if these services are terminated during a Commitment Period.
I agree and acknowledge that the location searching service of e-Care Link Mobile App Service is provided by SCHSA and the provision of such service is subject to the relevant terms and conditions of SCHSA. CSL Mobile Limited makes no warranty or representation as to (i) the accuracy and timeliness of the data provided under the e-Care Link Mobile App Service or (ii) whether the location searching service could be successfully used in times of emergency. CSL Mobile Limited shall not be responsible for any losses or damages arising from or suffered in connection with the use of the e-Care Link Mobile App Service.
I expressly acknowledge and agree that CSL Mobile Limited is not the e-Care Link Mobile App Service, nor the developer of the e-Care Link Mobile App. I further expressly acknowledge and agree that:
• the use of and reliance on any information or advice provided from the use of the e-Care Link Mobile App Service is at my sole discretion and risk;
• to the extent permitted by law, CSL Mobile Limited expressly disclaims and excludes any representation or warranty, whether express or implied, in relation to the e-Care Link Mobile App Service and e-Care Link Mobile App Service (including but not limited to any warranties of merchantability, title, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement) and I expressly waive any claims I may have against CSL Mobile Limited or any of its affiliates in this regard;
• to the extent permitted by law, CSL Mobile Limited expressly disclaims any responsibility or liability whatsoever and shall not be responsible or liable in connection with any refund, claim, loss or damage of any kind incurred as the result of or suffered by the service user in relation to the use of the e-Care Link Mobile App Service (including but not limited to any information or advice available or provided or any products or services advertised).
• CSL Mobile Limited does not endorse and are not in any partnership, joint venture or association with any manufacturers of the e-Care Link Service Octopus Remote, and shall not be responsible in any way for any goods, services, information and/or advice purchased or obtained from SCHSA or any of the manufacturers of the e-Care Link Service Octopus Remote.
• the customer acknowledges that should the customer subscribe for the Service via CSL Mobile Limited, CSL Mobile Limited shall act as the billing agent to bill the customer for the use of the Service and shall receive from the customer the fees for the Service.
In the event that I am not the service user of this e-Care Link Mobile App Service being applied for, I confirm that I have obtained the consent of such service user to provide his/her data in this Supplemental Application for the use by CSL Mobile Limited, including their disclosure of such data to SCHSA, for the purpose of providing the e-Care Link Mobile App Service.
