What is VoLTE?

csl is proud to present you VoLTE, which brings voice call and video call to a brand new generation! VoLTE (Voice Over LTE) means connection of voice and video call through 4G LTE network. As a valuable csl customer, you can now enjoy a FREE upgrade to experience voice call with speedy connection and video call with high quality!

Benefit of using VoLTE

(1)  Enables faster voice call set-up

Making call connection via 3G network takes around 7 seconds to connect. But now, if both users are enjoying VoLTE, the call connection just needs as fast as 1 second! If calling friends using 3G network via VoLTE, the call connection just  takes around 4 seconds.

If both users are enjoying VoLTE, the call connection just need as fast as 1 second!

(2)  Enhances video call quality

Under VoLTE connection, the visual can be very clear without any grids.

Traditional video call connected under 3G network. The resolution is just 176x144pixels. The visual is blur.		Video call connected under VoLTE, with resolution reaches up to 640x480pixels. Obviously the visual is very clear with high quality.

(3)  Enables instant switching between voice and video calls

When voice call is processing, user can switch the call to video call with just one click on a button! User can switch back from video call to voice call in the same way also, simply convenient and easy!

Must have items for using VoLTE:

• 1. Use Samsung GALAXY Note3 LTE
• 2. Have the handset software upgraded to the latest version. Samsung will eventually send out firmware upgrade notification. Customer can also upgrade with the following ways:
  　a. Bring your handset to Samsung customer service center
  　b. Download firmware via Samsung official site
  　c. Bring your handset to csl Customer Service Center
• 3. Activate the VoLTE function of the handset

Method 1 : Via handset Setting

Select "Setting" > "More networks"		Select "Mobile networks"		Tick/Untick "VoLTE call" box to turn on/off VoLTE function		After turn it on, you will see "VoLTE" sign on the top

Slide down on the main menu		Click the button at top right		Toggle "VoLTE" button to turn on/off

Remarks

• 1. VoLTE service is only available under 4G LTE network coverage for intra-network calls, with designated "SIM card", 4G handset, firmware setting and service upgrade.
• 2. Video call is a chargeable service, irrespective of whether 3G or VoLTE has been activated. The standard charge of Video call: intra network – $1/min; other local operator – $2/min. Usage will be rounded up to the nearest minute.
• 3. VoLTE Video call is only available when both users are using VoLTE service.
• 4. VoLTE cannot be used in conjunction with all types of Connecting Tone service (including HK Connecting Tone), 1-Card-2-Number service and EasyCare service.
• 5. The above tests were conducted in May 2014 using Samsung Galaxy Note3 LTE handsets. The results collected are used for reference only. Actual performance will be affected by the service location, 4G network coverage and other external factors 

Remarks:

* 150Mbps is the network specification for 4G LTE network (2600MHz – CAT 4) downlink, with 50Mbps uplink. However, actual speeds experienced by customers will be considerably less than the network specifications, and affected by customer's device, transmission technology, individual network and software used, network configuration, coverage, usage level, international bandwidth and other extraneous factors.

⁺ 1,000Mbps is the network specification for an internal optical fiber network and is different from actual speeds experienced by customers.

^  Wi-Fi 1,000Mbps is the network specification for 802.11ac, applicable only to certain csl Wi-Fi hotspots at a limited number of locations. Actual speeds experienced by customers using such hotspots are considerably less than the network specifications and will be affected by user's mobile device (e.g. number of a device's internal antennae), network coverage, international bandwidth and other extraneous factors.
