Apple Watch Series 5/ Apple Watch SE (1st generation)/ Apple Watch Ultra (GPS + Cellular) or later needs to be on WatchOS version 9.1 or later
 
iPhone 8 or newer, running iOS 16.1 or later.
 
A csl cellular plan. See below for eligible plans
 

How to activate Apple Watch International Roaming Service?

 
Apple Watch International Roaming Service enables your iPhone and Apple Watch (GPS + Cellular) share the same csl mobile number.  Two devices, one number. You can also make and receive calls(4)(6) and local mobile data(3) anytime anywhere from your Apple Watch without being close to your phone. What's more? While travel abroad, you can enjoy unlimited roaming data yearly(5) at VoLTE supported roaming service designated areas(7)
 
 
  • Apple Watch (GPS + Cellular) has an eSIM (embedded SIM) in it so there's no need to get a SIM card or transfer the SIM from another device.
  • When you pair your Apple Watch to your iPhone, you will be prompted to set up cellular service and guided through a few simple steps.
  • Be sure to have your csl mobile number and csl "My Account" password. Upon login, the four-digit one-time password will be sent to your csl mobile number by SMS. 
  • If you don't see “csl/1O1O mobile service carrier ” during set up, call csl Customer service hotline: 2512 3123 and we can help you find a mobile service plan that works for you. 
  • If you choose not to set up cellular service during the initial Apple Watch set up process, you can always go back later to the Apple Watch app on your iPhone and select Cellular under My Watch to sign up.
*To receive SMS, MMS, or push notifications from third-party apps on your Apple Watch with cellular, your paired iPhone must be powered on and connected to Wi-Fi or cellular.

1. What you need to get started with Apple Watch International Roaming Service

 
  • Compatible iPhone models includes iPhone 8 and newer models. Your iPhone needs to be on iOS (Version 16.1 or later). To check or download the latest software version on your iPhone, go to Settings > General > Software Update. You will also need the latest carrier settings. On your iPhone, tap Settings > General > About and follow the prompt to update to the latest carrier settings.
  • Your Apple Watch Series 5/ Apple Watch SE (1st generation)/ Apple Watch Ultra (GPS + Cellular) or later needs to be on WatchOS version 9.1 or later
  • An Eligible cellular service plan from csl
  • Your iPhone and Apple Watch must both use csl
  • You must activate IDD and roaming service, if you need technical assistance, simply call our 24-hour Customer Service Hotline on 2512 3123.
 

2. How do I find out if my service plan is eligible to subscribe to the Apple Watch plan?

 
  • An eligible post-paid service plan is required on the iPhone that you want to use with your Apple Watch.
  • To check if your mobile service plan is eligible, please call csl’s customer service hotline on 2512 3123
 

3. How to subscribe and activate the service?

Set up mobile data on your Apple Watch with Cellular

When customer starts the Apple Watch International Roaming Service eSIM subscription process via the Watch app in iPhone, the system will check whether the customer has completed Real-name Registration. If not completed, the system will send the customer a text message. By clicking on the SMS link, customer can submit his/her identity documents to complete Real-name Registration, upon successful Real-name Registration, he/she can subscribe Apple Watch International Roaming Service eSIM immediately. If personal info needs updating before submitting Real-name Registration, review results will be sent by SMS or email within 3 working days. Please note you need to enter a one-time password to verify your identity as part of the self-subscription flow. For any enquiries, simply call our 24-hour Customer Service Hotline on 2512 3123.
Step 1:
From iPhone:
  1. Open 'Watch' app to pair your Apple Watch
  2. Tap 'My Watch' from bottom left of 'Watch' app
  3. Tap 'Mobile Data'
  4. Tap 'Set Up Mobile Data'
  5. Tap 'Select My Plan'
Step 2:
  1. Type in password of your mobile number
  2. Tap 'Login'
Step 3:
  1. Type in one-time password
  2. Tap“Submit”
Step 4:
  1. Select “Apple Watch International Roaming”, service includes:
    $18/month (local voice and data shared with mobile service plan) and
    $150/year (unlimited data usage yearly in VoLTE roaming service designated areas; Standard roaming charge will be applied to using roaming voice call)
  2. Read and accept the “Terms and Conditions”
  3. Tap “Submit”
Step 5:
  1. Wait for the 'Activation done' message
  2. Tap 'OK' when finish'
Step 6:
  1. Return to the 'Watch' app
  2. If you see 1O1O / csl info icon next appears under DATA PLAN then your Apple Watch is successfully connected.
 

Wireless Network support

 
Apple Watch seamlessly connects to the cellular network whenever it's not connected to a nearby iPhone or Wi-Fi access point. Apple Watch (GPS + Cellular) supports voice and data over LTE.
 

Roaming

 
If your iPhone plan supports roaming, your caller will always hear the standard Hong Kong local connecting tone when you travel outside Hong Kong.

Apple Watch International Roaming Service (the “Service”) Terms and Conditions 

 
 
1. In order to qualify for the Service, you must subscribe to a designated csl / 1O1O / Club Sim mobile service plan (the “iPhone Service Plan”) who (i) have activated IDD and Roaming service, (ii) use an Apple Watch Series 5/ Apple Watch SE (1st generation)/ Apple Watch Ultra (GPS + Cellular) or later running on watchOS 9.1 or newer (the “Device”); and (iii) use a compatible iPhone 8 or later running on iOS 16.1 or newer. 
2. Access to the Service is subject to the payment of both the (a) monthly fee (the “Monthly Fee”) and (ii) annual fee (the “Annual Fee”) as stated in your application.  The Monthly fee and Annual fee are subject to change from time to time without prior notice. 
3. Local Data usage of the Service will be deducted from the iPhone Service Plan. 
4. You can make or receive calls from the Device using the mobile number of your iPhone. 
5. The Service is applicable to mobile data roaming and applies to mobile data roaming usage such as Internet Browsing, Roaming MMS, WAP and audio or video streaming but not support VoIP, BitTorrent, Peer to Peer file sharing (such as FTP file sharing and webcam applications), Peer Casting type applications (such as PPLive and PPStream), VPN Tunnel service, corporate e-mail service or any commercial promotion activities or any means which may be harmful or adversely affect our network or other customers. The mobile data roaming available for the Service is 500MB per month, after which the data transmission speed will be capped at 128kbps. Please note the actual speed and usage experience depends on applicable roaming networks. 
6. Standard roaming charges are applied to using voice, call forwarding, sending SMS, and MMS services outside of Hong Kong. For details, please visit https://www.hkcsl.com/en/roaming-coverage-and-charge/
7. The Service may not completely cover all locations within the periphery, depending on the performance of VoLTE networks run by local operators. For details, please visit  https://www.hkcsl.com/en/volte-roaming/
8. You can only use the Service for one Device at a time.  If you want to connect to another Device, you can connect your Device to the Service via “Watch” app on your iPhone.  Alternatively, you can purchase an additional Service to use with the new Device on your iPhone.   
9. You can apply for up to 10 device services for your primary MUP. However, you are further subject to the maximum number of eSIM for each category of service as set out below.

10. If you terminate the Service, you are required to terminate the Service by calling our customer service at least 30 days before your next bill date. If the Service is terminated before the expiry of Minimum Commitment Period (if any), Early Termination Charge shall apply. 
11. Monthly Fee and Annual Fee are both non-refundable. Upon termination, any unused entitlement shall be forfeited forthwith. For avoidance of doubt, the Annual Fee is payable at the beginning of each 12-monthly period. If the Service is terminated before the expiry of such 12-monthly period, you will not receive any refund of the Annual Fee.
12. The Service will be terminated automatically upon termination of your iPhone Service Plan.

14. If there is any inconsistency between the Chinese and English versions of these terms and conditions, the English version shall prevail.
